To obtain a control device and a control method, which can appropriately control the behavior of a saddle-ridding type vehicle according to a friction coefficient of a traveling road.SOLUTION: In a control device and a control method according to the present invention, the degree of a friction coefficient of a traveling road is determined, on the basis of: the change degree of a wheel speed when the wheel speed of a wheel subject to anti-lock brake control increases toward the vehicle speed of a saddle-ridding type vehicle during the anti-lock brake control; and the index that corresponds to a target reduction amount of braking force of the wheel to be controlled in the anti-lock brake control and changes according to a road surface condition for reducing the braking force, and the behavior of the saddle-riding type vehicle is controlled based on the determination result of the degree of the friction coefficient of the traveling road.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】本発明は、鞍乗り型車両の挙動を走行路の摩擦係数に応じて適切に制御することができる制御装置及び制御方法を得るものである。【解決手段】本発明に係る制御装置及び制御方法では、アンチロックブレーキ制御の対象の車輪の車輪速がアンチロックブレーキ制御中に鞍乗り型車両の車速に向けて上昇する際の当該車輪速の変化度合いと、アンチロックブレーキ制御における当該制御の対象の車輪の制動力の目標減少量と対応し当該制動力を減少させるための路面状況に応じて変動する指標とに基づいて、走行路の摩擦係数の程度が判定され、走行路の摩擦係数の程度の判定結果に基づいて、鞍乗り型車両の挙動が制御される。【選択図】図4
