To provide an electric vehicle that enables electric power of both batteries to be effectively utilized even when there is a significant difference in specifications or a battery state between the originally provided battery and the additionally provided battery.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle (1) comprises: a battery (13) for supplying electric power for traveling; a loading part (20) capable of being detachably loaded with an additionally provided battery (23) for supplying the electric power for traveling; a switch part (30) for switching between the serial connection and parallel connection of the additionally provided battery loaded on the loading part and the battery; and a switch control part (40) for controlling the switch part on the basis of state information on the battery and state information on the additionally provided battery loaded on the loading part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
