PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tread, and a tire, excellent in abrasion resistance and wet grip performance.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for tread includes, with regard to 100 pts.mass of rubber constituent containing 20 to 50 mass% of styrene content and 70 mass% or more of styrene-butadiene rubber having 15 to 65% of vinyl content, 5 to 30 pts.mass of carbon black, 95 pts.mass or more of silica, 25 pts.mass or more of inorganic compound powder expressed by a formula below (A) with average primary particle diameter of 10 μm or less, and 70 pts.mass or more softener containing 2 to 15 pts.mass of coumarone-based resin. A tire includes tread composed of the rubber composition for tread. The formula (A) is M αSiOβHO. (In the formula, M denotes at least one metal oxide or metalhydroxide selected from Al, Mg, Ti, and Ca; and α and β independently denote an integer of 0 to 10).SELECTED DRAWING: None
