PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization of an in-wheel motor drive device by making the dimension of the in-wheel motor drive device in a vehicle width direction smaller than a known dimension, to thereby enhance versatility of the drive device or its peripheral elements.SOLUTION: An in-wheel motor drive device 21 according to the present invention comprises a motor part A, a bearing part C for wheel, and a reduction gear part B. The reduction gear part B has: an input shaft 35 to which a rotational driving force is input; an output shaft 38 from which the rotational driving force is output; at least one intermediate shaft 36 parallel to the input shaft 35 and the output shaft 38; an input gear 30 provided in the input shaft 35; an output gear 34 provided in the output shaft 38; and a large-diameter intermediate gear 31 and a small-diameter intermediate gear 32 provided in the intermediate shaft 36 and having different pitch circle diameters. These input gear 30 and the output gear 34, and the large-diameter intermediate gear 31 and the small-diameter intermediate gear 32 constitute a power transmission path from the input shaft 35 to the output shaft 38, and an idler gear 33 is provided on this power transmission path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】インホイールモータ駆動装置の車幅方向寸法を公知の寸法よりも小さくすることで、インホイールモータ駆動装置の小型化を図り、もって当該駆動装置ないしその周辺要素の汎用性を高める。【解決手段】本発明に係るインホイールモータ駆動装置21は、モータ部Aと、車輪用軸受部Cと、減速機部Bとを備え、減速機部Bは、回転駆動力が入力される入力軸35と、回転駆動力が出力される出力軸38と、入力軸35と出力軸38に平行な少なくとも一つの中間軸36、及び入力軸35に設けられた入力歯車30と、出力軸38に設けられた出力歯車34と、中間軸36に設けられ互いにピッチ円直径の異なる大径中間歯車31及び小径中間歯車32とを有する。これら入力歯車30と出力歯車34、及び大径中間歯車31と小径中間歯車32は、入力軸35から出力軸38に至る動力伝達経路を構成し、この動力伝達経路上にアイドラ歯車33が配設されている。【選択図】図1
