PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more effectively reduce the size of an apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermal power generation system comprising: a Rankine cycle including a flow passage in which a working medium to be heated is circulated, a Rankine cycle pump provided in the flow passage for circulating the working medium, and an expander provided in the flow passage for expanding the working medium to generate rotational energy: and a motor generator part capable of generating electric power by using the rotational energy generated by the expander and capable of outputting driving power for driving the Rankine cycle pump. The motor generator part includes: a first rotor connected to the rotating shaft of the Rankine cycle pump, in which a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged in the circumferential direction to be alternately different in polarity; a second rotor provided opposite to the outer peripheral side of the first rotor via an air gap and connected to the rotating shaft of the expander, in which a plurality of soft magnetic materials are arranged in the circumferential direction; and a stator provided opposite to the outer peripheral side of the second rotor via an air gap, in which a plurality of armatures are arranged in the circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
