PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of preventing unneeded driving support from being performed while preventing the state in which driving support is not performed even in a condition where driving support is needed.SOLUTION: The driving support device includes: a reliability determination unit for sequentially determining the reliability of a map matching; an area setting unit for setting a determination area so as to include an intersection point between an own vehicle prediction track and a surrounding vehicle prediction track; an intersection node determination unit for determining an intersection node existing in a traveling direction of the own vehicle, on the basis of that the reliability of the map matching is high; and a determination unit for determining whether the intersection node is present or not in the determination area. A driving support level is made to be a level where driving support is suppressed more when the intersection node is not present in the determination area than when the intersection node is present in the determination area. When the reliability of the map matching is low, it is determined whether the driving support is executed or not on the basis of whether the intersection point is present or not between the own vehicle prediction track and the surrounding vehicle prediction track, without determination performed by the determination unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】運転支援が必要な状況であるのに運転支援が行われないことを抑制しつつ、不要な運転支援が行われてしまうことも抑制できる運転支援装置を提供する。【解決手段】マップマッチングの信頼度を逐次決定する信頼度決定部と、自車両予測軌道と周辺車両予測軌道との交点を含むように判定領域を設定する領域設定部と、マップマッチングの信頼度が高信頼度であることに基づいて、自車両の進行方向に存在する交差点ノードを決定する交差点ノード決定部と、判定領域内に交差点ノードがあるか否かを判定する判定部とを備える。判定領域内に交差点ノードがない場合、判定領域内に交差点ノードがある場合よりも運転支援レベルを運転支援が抑制されるレベルとし、マップマッチングの信頼度が低信頼度である場合、判定部による判定を行わずに、自車両予測軌道と周辺車両予測軌道に交点があるか否かに基づいて運転支援を実行するか否かを決定する。【選択図】図6
