PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a ground contact section in which a portion of a tire corresponding to the arrangement place of a vibration detection unit for detecting tire vibration is in contact with ground to be identified with high accuracy.SOLUTION: In order to detect a road surface condition, the detection signal of a portion of a vibration detection-power generation unit 11 for detecting vibration in a tire tangential direction during a ground contact section, e.g., a vibration-powered generator element 11a, is extracted. Identification of being in a ground contact section is carried out on the basis of whether or not a centrifugal force acting on the vibration detection-power generation unit 11 has occurred, and a period during which no centrifugal force has occurred is identified as a ground contact section. Thus, it is possible to identify a ground contact section with high accuracy even when the pulse level of the output voltage of the vibration detection-power generation unit 11 changes in response to the running speed of a vehicle. Therefore, it is possible to detect a road surface condition with high accuracy on the basis of the ground contact section that is identified with high accuracy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】タイヤのうちタイヤの振動を検出する振動検出部の配置箇所と対応する部分が路面に接地している接地区間の特定を精度良く行えるようにする。【解決手段】路面状態の検出のために、接地区間中における振動検出発電部11のうちのタイヤ接線方向の振動を検出する部分、例えば振動発電素子11aの検出信号を抽出する。その際の接地区間中であることの特定を、振動検出発電部11に働く遠心力が発生しているか否かに基づいて行い、遠心力が発生していないときを接地区間中であると特定する。これにより、車両の走行速度に応じて振動検出発生部11の出力電圧のパルスレベルが変化しても、精度良く接地区間を特定することができる。したがって、精度良く特定された接地区間に基づいて、精度良く路面状態の検出を行うことが可能となる。【選択図】図1
