PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle which can further improve fuel consumption while avoiding noise.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle having a first rotary electric machinery, a transmission shaft, a power division mechanism, a second rotary electric machinery which is connected to the transmission shaft, and a speed change gear which is interposed between the second rotary electric machinery and a drive shaft. In the vehicle, engine power required for every speed level is outputted and an engine operation point for avoiding noise is specified, engine heat efficiency and transfer efficiency are specified for every said operation point, the speed level and the operation point with good fuel consumption are specified on the basis of the engine heat efficiency and the transfer efficiency, and the specified speed level and operation point are set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
