PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to effectively use the entire display surface of a liquid crystal panel while combining a real object with an image on the liquid crystal panel to give depth feeling.SOLUTION: A display device includes a liquid crystal panel 20 that forms a display surface 20a on which images are displayed, a backlight 30 that irradiates the liquid crystal panel 20 with light from the back side, an indicator 40 (real object), and a control device. The indicator 40 is arranged between the liquid crystal panel 20 and the backlight 30 and visually recognized through the liquid crystal panel 20. The control device controls the liquid crystal panel so that the transmittance of light becomes higher in a specific pixel area G10 on the display surface 20a, which is a pixel area of a part where the indicator 40 is located on the back side, than the transmittance of light in the other pixel area G20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】液晶パネルに実体物を組み合わせて奥行き感を付与させつつ、液晶パネルの表示面全体を有効に利用可能にする表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】表示装置は、画像が表示される表示面20aを形成する液晶パネル20と、液晶パネル20へ背面側から光を照射するバックライト30と、指針40(実体物)と、制御装置と、を備える。指針40は、液晶パネル20とバックライト30との間に配置され、液晶パネル20を通して視認される。そして、表示面20aのうち指針40が背面側に位置する部分の画素領域である特定画素領域G10では、他の画素領域G20に比べて光の透過率が高くなるように、制御装置は液晶パネルを制御する。【選択図】図3
