PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device which includes a seal with improved seal performance and consequently can maintain bearing performance for a long period of time.SOLUTION: A metal ring 12 comprises: a fitting part 12a which externally fits onto a shoulder part 4e of a hub ring 4; a curved part 12b formed into a circular shape; a disc part 12c which extends radially outward, and is brought into close contact with a side surface 6c of a wheel mounting flange 6; and a bent part 12d which separates from the outside diameter part of the disc part 12c with respect to the side surface 6c, and extends radially outward. A synthetic rubber-made circular deflector member 15 is joined to the bent part 12d by vulcanization adhesion, and the deflector member 15 comprises a bevel part 16 having: an outside diameter surface 16a which covers an external peripheral face 2c of a cylindrical end part of an outer member 2, and is formed into a tapered shape so as to gradually diametrically reduce toward an inner side from a base part 15a of the deflector member 15; and an inside diameter part 16b which is formed into a cylindrical surface. A labyrinth clearance δ is formed between the inside diameter surface 16b and the external peripheral face 2c of the outer member 2.

    【課題】シールの密封性能の向上を図り、軸受性能を長期間に亘って維持することができる車輪用軸受装置を提供する。【解決手段】金属環12が、ハブ輪4の肩部4eに外嵌される嵌合部12aと、円弧状に形成された湾曲部12bと、径方向外方に延びて車輪取付フランジ6の側面6cに密着される円板部12cと、この外径部から側面6cに対して軸方向に離間して径方向外方に延びる屈曲部12dを備えると共に、この屈曲部12dに合成ゴム製の円環状のデフレクタ部材15が加硫接着によって接合され、このデフレクタ部材15が、外方部材2の円筒状の端部外周面2cを覆い、この基部15aからインナー側に向って漸次縮径するテーパ状に形成された外径面16aと、円筒面に形成された内径面16bを有する傘部16を備え、この内径面16bと外方部材2の外周面2cとの間にラビリンス隙間δが形成されている。【選択図】図2
