PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system and computer program capable of appropriately designating an optimal route that does not require abrupt right and left turns.SOLUTION: If a distance to the nearest forward intersection X1 that is an intersection which a vehicle reaches after advancing straight is short, a road-vehicle communication apparatus 3 decides based on information on a state of a traffic signaling light, which is disposed at the nearest forward intersection X1, received from a road-side machine 210 whether the vehicle halts at the nearest forward intersection X1 according to the traffic signaling light. If the vehicle does not halt (a), an optimal route that is optimal as a route to a destination among routes along which the vehicle advances straight through the nearest forward intersection is designated as a guide route R. If the vehicle halts (b), a route that is optimal as the route to the destination among arbitrary routes including routes along which the vehicle turns right or left at the nearest forward intersection X1 is designated as the guide route R.

    【課題】余裕の無い右左折を要しない範囲において最適なルートを適正に設定することのできる「ナビゲーションシステム及びコンピュータプログラム」を提供する。【解決手段】直進して次に到達する交差点である前方直近交差点X1までの距離が小さい場合、路車間通信装置3が路側機210から受信した前方直近交差点X1の交通信号機の状態の情報に基づいて、前方直近交差点X1で交通信号機に従って停車するかどうかを判定し、停車しない場合(a)には、前方直近交差点X1を直進する経路のうちで目的地までの経路として最適な経路を誘導ルートRに設定し、停車する場合(b)には、前方直近交差点X1で右左折する経路を含む任意の経路のうちで目的地までの経路として最適な経路を誘導ルートRに設定する。【選択図】図5
