PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering device capable of accurately detecting an energization failure without adding motor rotation angle velocity to determination conditions in a situation in which the motor rotation angle velocity cannot be estimated.SOLUTION: An energization failure detection unit 71 determines whether or not a state satisfies a first determination condition that a DUTY command value is continuously equal to or higher than an upper limit of a predetermined range corresponding to a predetermined current value and a second determination condition that the DUTY command value is continuously equal to or lower than a lower limit if a phase current value is equal to or lower than the predetermined current value and a power supply voltage Vps is equal to or higher than a predetermined voltage value. The energization failure detection unit 71 measures a first duration that is time for which the state satisfying the first determination condition continues and a second duration that is time for which the state satisfying the second determination condition continues, and determines that an energization failure occurs if the first or second duration exceeds predetermined time.

    【課題】その目的は、モータ回転角速度を推定できなくなる状況において、モータ回転角速度を判定条件に加えることなく、精度良く通電不良を検出することのできる車両用操舵装置を提供する。【解決手段】通電不良検出部71は、相電流値が所定電流値以下であり、且つ電源電圧Vpsが所定電圧値以上である場合に、連続してDUTY指令値が所定電流値に対応する所定範囲の上限値以上であるという第1の判定条件、及び連続してDUTY指令値が下限値以下であるという第2の判定条件を満たすか否かを判定する。そして、通電不良検出部71は、第1の判定条件を満たす状態が継続する時間である第1の継続時間と、第2の判定条件を満たす状態が継続する時間である第2の継続時間とをそれぞれ計測し、第1又は第2の継続時間が、所定時間を超えた場合に、通電不良が発生したと判定するようにした。【選択図】図2
