A method and system for compensating for vehicle (10) disturbances during vehicle operation, including: an algorithm for obtaining predicted driving condition data from a database (12), wherein the database includes one or more of geospatial data (26) and remote vehicle (20) data; an algorithm for obtaining real-time vehicle (10) state data from equipment (28,, 30, 32, 34) communicatively connected to a vehicle (10); an algorithm for combining the predicted driving condition data and the real-time vehicle state data to formulate a desired steering torque request necessary to compensate for predicted and actual driving conditions experienced by the vehicle (10); and an algorithm for providing the desired steering torque request to a power steering assist system (42) of the vehicle (10) to compensate for the predicted and actual driving conditions experienced by the vehicle.(Fig. 1)
