The invention relates to an electric rotating machine (1) which has a rotor (3) that can be rotated about a rotational axis (4) and comprises a rotor tube (3b) and a shaft stub (7). The shaft stub (7) is arranged on a non-operating side (NDE) of the electric rotating machine (1), and the rotor tube (3b) is mechanically connected to the shaft stub (7) at an axial end of the rotor tube (3b). The aim of the invention is to save space and reduce costs. This is achieved in that the shaft stub (7) has a central bore (7b) and/or parallel bores (7c) which are provided for supplying a coolant (19) into the rotor tube (3b). The rotor tube (3b) has at least one cooling opening (3c), and the central bore (7b) and/or the parallel bores (7c) are fluidically connected to the at least one cooling opening (3c).
