PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor capable of reducing size, especially thickness of multipole axial layers of a multipole magnet while causing angular positions of the respective multiple axial layers to be tracked by a fact that position sensors are not aligned.SOLUTION: A brushless DC electric motor for an automobile wiper system is provided with a plurality of coils 4 for a stator 3 to electromagnetically exciting a rotor 2. The rotor is provided with a multipole magnet 5, the multipole magnet is attached to be driven by rotation centering on a rotational axis L, and is provided with at least three multipole axial layers 7. A device 8 for determining a position of the rotor is provided with at least three position sensors 9 for detecting one position of the at least three multipole axial layers, each sensor is associated with one of the multipole axial layers, respectively, and the position sensors are installed in a plane P including a direction in parallel with the rotational axis of the multipole magnet without being aligned with one another.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
