The embodiment of the invention provides a lifting appliance position detection method, system and device and a storage medium. The method comprises the steps of obtaining initial point cloud data related to a lifting appliance; determining at least one candidate point cloud line cluster based on the initial point cloud data; determining a target point cloud line cluster based on the line distribution characteristics of the at least one candidate point cloud line cluster; and determining position information of the lifting appliance based on the target point cloud line cluster. The system comprises an acquisition module configured to acquire initial point cloud data related to the lifting appliance; a screening module configured to determine a target point cloud line cluster based on the initial point cloud data; and the determining module is configured to determine the position information of the lifting appliance based on the target point cloud line cluster. The method can be realized through a lifting appliance position detection device. The method can also be operated after a computer instruction stored in a computer readable storage medium is read. In combination with the structural characteristics of the lifting appliance and the characteristics of the point cloud, the position of the lifting appliance can be accurately and quickly detected by using the existing detection equipment of the vehicle.
