The invention relates to a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle power generation control method, device and equipment and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps that the actual charge state of a battery pack and the target charge state of starting power generation are obtained, and the basic power generation level is determined according to the difference value of the actual charge state and the target charge state, the basic power generation grade is in positive correlation with the absolute value of the difference value; obtaining a charge state change rate according to the actual charge state; the charge state change rate is compared with a target change rate, and the maintaining duration when the charge state change rate is smaller than the target change rate is obtained; determining a corrected power generation grade according to the maintenance duration; and determining a target power generation grade according to the sum of the basic power generation grade and the corrected power generation grade so as to control the power generation power of the engine in the series mode based on the target power generation grade. By adopting the method provided by the invention, the problem that the SOC is reduced too fast in the prior art can be improved.
