The invention discloses a trackside electronic unit and a data sending method thereof, the trackside electronic unit comprises a first safety processing unit, a second safety processing unit, a first programmable logic device and a second programmable logic device, and the first safety processing unit and the second safety processing unit interact with respective system check words and system clocks. The first security processing unit generates an encryption field, the first security processing unit encrypts received message data by using the encryption field and then sends the encrypted message data to the first programmable logic device, and the second security processing unit generates key data by using the encryption field and sends the key data to the second programmable logic device; and the first programmable logic device sends the encrypted message data to the second programmable logic device, and the second programmable logic device decrypts the received encrypted message data by using the received key data to obtain decrypted message data and sends the decrypted message data to the transponder. According to the invention, the security and stability of data transmission are improved.
