The invention discloses a locomotive automatic driving redundant braking system and a graded braking safety control method. The locomotive automatic driving redundant braking system comprises an electrical control redundant system and an air braking loop redundant system. The electrical control redundant system is connected with the air brake loop redundant system; the electrical control redundant system is used for controlling the air brake loop redundant system; the electrical control redundancy system is composed of an original vehicle microcomputer, a vehicle control unit and an automatic driving protection host. The original vehicle microcomputer, the vehicle control unit and the automatic driving protection host are three independently-powered control systems, and when any one control system fails, the other control systems can independently control the locomotive to brake; the air brake loop redundant system is used for achieving small brake braking, large brake braking and emergency braking. According to the invention, safe braking of the locomotive during automatic driving can be realized, rich braking functions and higher redundancy are realized, the locomotive can be effectively protected, and the system safety of the locomotive is ensured.
