The invention relates to the technical field of photoelectric pod mode conversion, and discloses a photoelectric pod mode conversion method. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a power-on instruction sent by a ground control handle, and entering an initialization mode based on the power-on instruction; after it is determined that all the hardware modules are checked to be correct, the initialization mode is quitted, and a locking mode is entered; receiving a first mode switching instruction sent by the ground control handle, and determining a first mode corresponding to the first mode switching instruction; and switching from the locking mode to the first mode, and executing an operation instruction corresponding to the first mode. In the application, a user directly controls the working mode of the photoelectric pod by shifting the handle switch, so that the technical problem that the operation steps are tedious as the manual control mode needs to be firstly switched and then the other working modes need to be switched when the working modes of the existing unmanned aerial vehicle carrying the photoelectric pod are switched is solved.
