The invention belongs to the technical field of railway vehicle detection, and discloses a railway vehicle wheel polygon detection method and system based on multi-channel fusion, and the method comprises the steps: collecting the waveform of multiple channels, and calculating the roughness spectrum of each channel through the waveform of each channel; performing point multiplication on the roughness spectrums of all the channels to obtain a roughness product spectrum; and identifying wave crest points from the roughness product spectrum, and performing first-order difference judgment on the identified wave crest points to judge whether a polygon exists in the wheel or not. According to the method, the roughness spectrum of each channel is calculated, and the roughness spectrums of each channel are fused in a point multiplication mode, so that the signal-to-noise ratio is amplified, and the wave crests representing polygons are more prominent and are convenient to identify. After the wave crest is recognized, whether the polygon exists in the wheel is judged through first-order difference judgment, so that errors caused by noise are filtered out, and finally judgment on the polygon of the wheel is more accurate.
