The invention relates to the technical field of fault detection, in particular to a ground fault detection device and method, and the device comprises a detection mechanism which comprises an unmanned plane, a mounting block disposed on the unmanned plane, a detector disposed in the mounting block, and a camera disposed at the bottom of the unmanned plane; the adjusting mechanism comprises a holder arranged on the camera, a supporting rod arranged on the holder, and an extrusion assembly and a limiting assembly which are arranged on the supporting rod; the extrusion assembly comprises an extrusion block arranged on one side of the supporting rod, the extrusion block is driven by the extrusion assembly to abut against the bottom of the unmanned aerial vehicle, and the camera and the unmanned aerial vehicle are fixed after being adjusted, so that when the unmanned aerial vehicle takes off, the center of the unmanned aerial vehicle is kept at the center position, and then the stability of the unmanned aerial vehicle in the flight process is improved; and the fixing effect of the extrusion assembly on the camera is improved.
