The invention discloses a ballast system based on automatic sequential control. The ballast system comprises a remote measurement and calculation system and a ballast/unballast control system, the remote measurement system measures and calculates the ship draft depth, the heeling angle and the trim angle through four draft sensors, and the liquid level of ballast tank liquid is determined based on the ship draft depth, the heeling angle and the trim angle. According to the ballast/unballast control system, the draft of the LNG ship is stabilized by designing sequential control of a suction/filling valve and a ballast pump. By means of the ballast control system, high-precision, high-reliability and high-safety transverse and longitudinal inclination and draught control of the LNG ship during sailing, loading and unloading can be achieved.
