The failure detection method for the anti-falling baffle of the crane lifting hook comprises the following steps: acquiring video image data of the lifting hook and the anti-falling baffle thereof in real time by using a camera; preprocessing the video image data, and obtaining image data information corresponding to the preprocessed video image data; detecting and processing the image data information by using a trained RetinaNet model in a database, and judging whether the anti-falling baffle of the crane lifting hook fails or falls off or not; and when the anti-falling baffle of the lifting hook of the crane fails or falls off, a danger alarm is given, and the state data of the lifting hook and the anti-falling baffle of the lifting hook are recorded in real time. The system comprises modules corresponding to the steps of the method.
