The method comprises the steps that wheel edge controllers are arranged on wheels, the wheel edge controllers are integrated with sub-ECUs, transverse deflection rate signals of a vehicle, wheel speed signals of all the wheels and angle signals of a steering wheel are continuously collected, and a vehicle central controller judges whether the vehicle is in a single-wheel locking state or not and whether sideslip occurs or not according to collected data; the central controller is connected with the wheel side controller, generates control information and transmits the control information to the wheel side controller, so that anti-lock and anti-sideslip out-of-control functions are achieved for a single wheel of the vehicle, if the central controller breaks down, the wheel side controller judges whether to execute a first control strategy or not, and if it is detected that the vehicle does not execute the first control strategy, the wheel side controller controls the wheel side controller. According to the control information, the wheel edge controller temporarily replaces the central controller to achieve the anti-locking and anti-sideslip control functions of the wheel, single-wheel locking and sideslip out-of-control are prevented, function redundancy backup is increased, and the safety performance of the vehicle is improved.
