The invention relates to a track design method. The track design method comprises the steps that the radial pressure Pmax borne by a pin bush (4) which is pressed into a pin bush hole (11) of a caterpillar track section (1) and is in interference fit with the caterpillar track section (1) is calculated, and the deformation quantity a of the pin bush (4) is obtained through finite element analysis; the inner diameter of the end, inserted into the pin sleeve hole (11), of the pin sleeve (4) and the outer diameter of the end, located in the pin sleeve hole (11), of the pin shaft (3) arranged in the pin sleeve (4) in a sleeved mode are designed, the difference between the inner diameter and the outer diameter is not smaller than the deformation amount a, and therefore the pin shaft (3) arranged in the pin sleeve (4) in a sleeved mode can be avoided when the pin sleeve (4) is pressed into the pin sleeve hole (11) and deforms.
