The invention provides a rail transit interval tunnel evacuation system and method, and the method comprises the following steps: S1, inputting the mileage of piston air shafts at the two ends of stations of a closed section in a rail transit line and the mileage of interval air shafts between the stations into an evacuation controller, and dividing ventilation sections; s2, after a train fire alarm signal is confirmed through a fire alarm system or manually, the fire train executes an action; s3, the signal system controls all trains in front of the fire train to drive into a front station nearby and stop and evacuate; s4, the normal train parked in the fire interval retreats to the nearest station to be evacuated; the evacuation controller determines the specific mileage of a fire train stopping interval through a train signal system, meanwhile, the ventilation section where the fire train is located is determined, normal trains stopping in the fire interval retreat, a draught fan serving the fire ventilation section is started in a mode, and fire train personnel are evacuated to a safe area; and when multiple trains retreat, at least the normal train closest to the fire train is ensured to retreat to the outside of the fire ventilation section to be evacuated.
