The invention discloses a method for a stationary orbit remote sensing instrument to quickly capture a fixed star in orbit. The method comprises the following steps: designing a fixed star waiting observation test; adjusting a fixed star observation strategy; designing a fixed star confirmation observation test according to the result of the fixed star waiting observation test; adjusting a fixed star observation strategy; designing a conventional fixed star observation test according to the result of the fixed star waiting observation test and the result of the fixed star confirmation observation test; capturing the fixed star, and judging whether the capturing result conforms to the expected position of the fixed star or not. Through the fixed star waiting observation test and the fixed star confirmation observation test, the specified fixed star can be correctly captured as soon as possible, the steady-state observation condition is established, and the restricting factors for realizing high-precision positioning as soon as possible are broken.
