Techniques are provided that facilitate improving operational reliability for a cantilever crane. In one example, a cantilever crane may include a mast (130), a shaft mechanism (140), and a rod (410). The mast may extend vertically from the base structure. The shaft mechanism may be disposed within the mast. The rod may be coupled to a boom arm (170) and may be disposed within the shaft mechanism. Rotation of the rod can facilitate continuous rotation of the boom arm relative to the base structure about the longitudinal axis of the rod.
