A distance measuring device based on an unmanned aerial vehicle and application thereof relate to the technical field of distance measurement, and comprise an unmanned aerial vehicle body and a distance measuring mechanism, and the distance measuring mechanism is arranged at the abdomen of the unmanned aerial vehicle body. The invention discloses application of a distance measurement device based on an unmanned aerial vehicle to cross-obstacle distance measurement. The application comprises the steps of determining a head end mark and a tail end mark; the unmanned aerial vehicle body is lifted off; determining the included angle C, the measurement distance of the first laser distance measuring sensor and the measurement distance of the second laser distance measuring sensor; calculating a linear distance; the application of the distance measurement device based on the unmanned aerial vehicle in vehicle speed measurement comprises the steps of determining the starting position of a motor vehicle and setting a mark position; timing and measuring the vehicle speed. According to the invention, rapid measurement of the linear distance can be realized under the condition that an obstacle exists, and the method is applied to the field of distance measurement of a static target and distance measurement of a dynamic target based on the technology.
