The embodiment of the invention relates to the technical field of vehicles, and discloses a control method and device of a range extender for a climbing road condition and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps: receiving climbing road condition information; according to the climbing road section, the vertical height and the climbing road condition average vehicle speed, calculating to obtain a first detection battery electric quantity percentage corresponding to the climbing road section; according to the driving road section and the average vehicle speed at the current moment, calculating to obtain a theoretical battery capacity percentage corresponding to the vehicle driving to the climbing starting position, and determining a target battery capacity percentage according to the theoretical battery capacity percentage and a critical battery capacity percentage when the range extender is started; if the detected target battery electric quantity percentage is smaller than or equal to the first detected battery electric quantity percentage, the range extender is controlled to conduct power generation operation before the vehicle runs to the climbing starting position, so that supplementary electric energy needed by the vehicle in the climbing road section is obtained. The range extender is prevented from being forced to generate power at high power on a climbing road section needing to overcome slope resistance, and the driving experience feeling is improved.
