The method comprises the following steps: if a target vehicle starts a cruise mode, acquiring vehicle running information, and acquiring a cruise road section based on navigation information; inputting the vehicle operation information and the traffic information of the cruise road section into a first fuel consumption prediction model to obtain a first predicted fuel consumption in a predicted energy management function starting state; inputting the vehicle operation information and the traffic information of the cruise road section into a second fuel consumption prediction model to obtain a second predicted fuel consumption in a state of predicting that the energy management function is closed; and on the basis of a comparison result of the first predicted fuel consumption and the second predicted fuel consumption, controlling the predicted energy management function to be turned on or turned off when entering the cruise road section. According to the method, in the cruise mode, the hybrid electric vehicle can correctly select a more energy-saving energy management mode, and the technical effect of reducing the energy consumption of the vehicle is achieved.
