The speed governor comprises a base frame, a wheel shaft on the base frame and a rope wheel rotationally installed on the wheel shaft, the wheel shaft is coaxially provided with a brake disc, the rope wheel is provided with a centrifugal mechanism, the centrifugal mechanism comprises two centrifugal swing arms and a connecting rod arranged between the two centrifugal swing arms, a speed regulating assembly is arranged between the centrifugal swing arms and the rope wheel, and the two centrifugal swing arms are rotationally installed on the rope wheel. The two sides of the brake disc are respectively located; the speed regulation assembly is used for regulating the speed limit of the speed governor, brake bumps are respectively arranged corresponding to the two centrifugal swing arms, and the brake bumps are arranged on the rope wheel through pin shafts and are in running fit with the pin shafts; the centrifugal swing arm abuts against the pin shaft and is in linkage with the brake protruding block through a linkage pin. When the speed governor is in an overspeed state, the centrifugal swing arm is separated from the pin shaft and is in linkage with the brake protruding block through the linkage pin to be attached to the brake disc, and rope wheel braking is achieved. When the speed governor is in an overspeed state, the centrifugal swing arm is directly linked with the brake protruding block through the linkage pin, and the brake protruding block is attached to the brake disc to achieve quick response to rope wheel braking.
