The high-strength 40CrB steel comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 0.36 to 0.40 percent of C, 0.15 to 0.25 percent of Si, 0.80 to 0.90 percent of Mn, 1.05 to 1.10 percent of Cr, 0.005 to 0.015 percent of Ti, 0.0005 to 0.0020 percent of B, 0.0030 to 0.0070 percent of N, 0.020 to 0.030 percent of Al, less than or equal to 0.020 percent of P, 0.015 to 0.025 percent of S, less than or equal to 0.10 percent of Cu, less than or equal to 0.10 percent of Ni, less than or equal to 0.05 percent of Mo and the balance of Fe. According to the method, great difficulty is overcome in the technical aspect, and the components and the dosage of the steel are controlled and adjusted, so that the production cost of the steel is greatly reduced while the mechanical performance of the steel is enhanced.
