A method for manufacturing a composite stranded wire includes a first step, a second step, and a third step. The first step is a step for forming a core intermediate in which a high-strength fiber bundle is impregnated with an uncured matrix resin. The second step is performed after the first step. The second step is a step in which a plurality of steel outer peripheral wire members are twisted around the outer periphery of the core intermediate. The third step is performed after the second step. In addition, the third step is a step for curing the matrix resin to make the core intermediate into a stranded wire core member made of fiber-reinforced plastic.
