The invention belongs to the technical field of engine control, and particularly relates to a ship-borne engine crosswind state starting recognition and control method and device. The method comprises the steps that S1, when an engine is in a starting stage before ignition, the total pressure of an engine fan inlet is calculated; s2, the actually-measured conversion pressure of the inlet of the combustion chamber is determined; s3, standard combustion chamber inlet conversion pressure is determined based on a corresponding relation table between the relative conversion rotating speed of the engine high-pressure rotor under the given windless condition and the standard combustion chamber inlet conversion pressure; s4, determining the ratio of the actually measured combustion chamber inlet conversion pressure to the standard combustion chamber inlet conversion pressure; and S5, corresponding correction parameters are determined according to a preset ratio and correction parameter comparison table, and parameter correction is conducted on engine starting control based on the correction parameters. The method can be compatible with meteorological conditions of ship surface wind direction and wind speed changes, the engine starting success rate is increased, and the debugging workload is reduced.
