According to the technical scheme, the method comprises the steps that in response to a size shortening instruction, a first side wheel of the unmanned vehicle is controlled to steer to the direction parallel to a connecting beam between the first side wheel and a second side wheel, the first side wheel is controlled to move in the direction close to the second side wheel, so that the distance between the first side wheel and the second side wheel is shortened, and the size of the unmanned vehicle is reduced. The second side wheel and the first side wheel are opposite side wheels; and in response to the size extension instruction, controlling the first side wheel to steer to a direction parallel to a connecting beam between the first side wheel and the second side wheel, and controlling the first side wheel to move in a direction away from the second side wheel so as to increase the distance between the first side wheel and the second side wheel. Through the technical means, the effect of adjusting the size of the unmanned vehicle is achieved by controlling the wheels to move, a driving motor does not need to be additionally installed on the vehicle body to adjust the size of the unmanned vehicle, and the cost of the unmanned vehicle is reduced.
