The embodiment of the invention provides an automatic track deformation monitoring system and a monitoring method thereof, and the automatic track deformation monitoring system comprises a target, video acquisition equipment and a post-processing system. The target is used for being arranged on a steel rail of a track. And the video acquisition equipment is located outside the railway boundary, is arranged towards the target and is used for acquiring coordinate information of the target. And the post-processing system is in communication connection with the video acquisition devices, and the post-processing system is used for determining the shape of the steel rail according to the coordinate information of the targets. The target is directly arranged on the steel rail, can directly reflect basic data of rail deformation, and does not affect driving safety. According to the monitoring system, dynamic monitoring and continuous monitoring are achieved, the real change condition of the track in the traveling operation period can be reflected, an accurate basis can be provided for safe operation of a railway and maintenance of a track system, and the target and the video acquisition equipment are easy and rapid to arrange and convenient to maintain.
