The invention discloses an electric control booster control method and an electric control booster. The electric control booster control method comprises the steps that the current ignition switch state, the current hand brake state and the first wheel rotating speed are obtained; according to the current ignition switch state, the current hand brake state and the first wheel rotating speed, a target assistance control strategy is determined; and when a brake pedal treading signal is received, the target assistance control strategy is executed, and the working state of an electronic hand brake and the working state of a motor are adjusted. According to the method, the braking frequency and braking degree of the motor can be reduced, and the service life of the motor can be guaranteed.
