The invention discloses a modular wind-driven ocean observation robot capable of continuously sailing and a control method of the modular wind-driven ocean observation robot. The ocean observation robot comprises a bracket, a buoy, a sail body, a solar power generation device, a battery, a main control module, a positioning device, an ultrasonic meteorological station, an inertial measurement unit and a water flow sensor, the positioning device is located behind the sail body and used for obtaining position information of the ocean observation robot. The ultrasonic meteorological station is located in front of the sail body and used for obtaining wind speed information and wind direction information of the ocean observation robot. The inertial measurement unit is used for acquiring pose information of the ocean observation robot; the water flow sensor is located below the support and used for obtaining water speed information and water direction information of the ocean observation robot. Various sensors are configured to obtain position information, wind speed information, wind direction information, pose information, water speed information, water direction information and other information, the navigation route can be conveniently planned and adjusted, and a user can smoothly arrive at a destination.
