The present disclosure provides a system and method for controlling a vehicle, the system including: a server storing pest data for each area; and a vehicle control device receiving pest data related to a current position of the vehicle from the server, and controlling at least one of the sound output device and the lighting device according to driving or stopping based on the pest data received from the server. The system can actively prevent pests from approaching the vehicle according to the position and driving conditions of the vehicle, thereby improving driver satisfaction and preventing the vehicle from being damaged.
