The invention provides a charging system and a charging control method, and relates to the technical field of electric vehicle charging. The system comprises at least one battery bin and an expansion bin, a power unit and a power interface connected with the power unit are independently arranged in each battery compartment, and the battery compartment is used for placing a battery; a first power interface, a power conversion unit and a second power interface are arranged in the expansion cabin; one end of the power conversion unit is connected with the first power interface, and the other end of the power conversion unit is connected with the second power interface; the power interfaces of at least one battery compartment are connected in parallel and then connected with the first power interface, and the second power interface is used for connecting external equipment. According to the charging system, the battery units are boosted through the power units in the battery cabins, and the multiple battery cabins are connected in parallel, so that the parallel capacity increasing of the battery units with different voltage grades and capacity grades in the multiple battery cabins is realized, the parallel connection of the battery cabins with different numbers and the expansion cabins is realized, and the power utilization scene requirements of different powers can be met.
