According to the method and system for determining the operation interval of the collinear operation path, the maximum tracking time interval of the rear vehicle is determined according to the operation curve information of the front vehicle and the rear vehicle on the collinear path; acquiring current position information of the front vehicle and the rear vehicle, and determining predicted parking position information of the rear vehicle from emergency braking to safe parking according to the current position and the running speed of the rear vehicle; comparing the predicted parking position information with the current front vehicle position information, and determining a time increment of an initial tracking interval; determining a tracking interval of the collinear operation path according to the initial tracking interval and the time increment; and further determining the operation interval of the collinear operation path according to the maximum value of the tracking interval and the interlocked control interval of the bifurcation point or the confluence point. Therefore, the operation interval under the collinear operation path can be accurately determined so as to effectively meet the rapid data acquisition requirements of service decisions such as station wiring design, actuarial calculation of the number of assigned trains, operation capability potential tapping, operation route optimization and the like.
