Provided are: a silicon nitride sintered body which has good mechanical properties, particularly good fracture toughness, and which has a good product life when processed into a product; a rolling body which uses the silicon nitride sintered body; and a bearing. The silicon nitride sintered body contains a rare earth element and an aluminum element, the content of the rare earth element is 6-13 wt% in terms of oxide relative to the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body, and the content of the aluminum element is 6-13 wt% in terms of oxide relative to the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body. The silicon nitride sintered body has inclusions (I) in a surface layer part, which is a region within 2 mm from the surface of the silicon nitride sintered body, and the ratio of the total cross-sectional area of the inclusions (I) to the total cross-sectional area of the surface layer part is 0.05% or more.
