The invention relates to an underground electric locomotive transportation method and system, and belongs to the technical field of underground electric locomotive transportation. The transportation method comprises the steps that a transportation instruction and a pre-planned transportation route are received; carrying out transportation according to the transportation route based on the transportation instruction; then position information is sent; when the electric locomotive breaks down, the main controller determines the current position of the electric locomotive on the basis of the received position information and distributes a detour instruction and a detour route to a to-be-detoured electric locomotive on the basis of the current position of the electric locomotive, and the to-be-detoured electric locomotive is the electric locomotive which needs to pass through the current position of the electric locomotive subsequently; receiving a detour instruction and a detour route; and then based on the detour instruction, the detour electric locomotive carries out transportation according to the detour route. As the electric locomotive to be bypassed is not needed, namely the electric locomotive which subsequently needs to pass through the current position of the electric locomotive is stopped, the overall ore transportation efficiency is improved.
