The invention discloses a method and device for controlling safe driving of a vehicle. The method comprises the steps that firstly, the opening value of an accelerator position during driving of a target vehicle is obtained; then, when the preset threshold value is not larger than the preset threshold value, request information for allowing automatic emergency braking is sent to a vehicle-mounted AEB device, and when the AEB device works, a virtual accelerator position signal that the accelerator position is zero is sent to an automatic gearbox, so that power transmission of an engine is controlled to be interrupted, and the engine is not shut down; afterwards, if the opening degree value, larger than the preset threshold value, of the accelerator position is obtained, request information for not allowing automatic emergency braking is sent to the AEB device, a virtual accelerator position signal equal to the accelerator position is sent to the automatic gearbox so that the automatic gearbox can control power transmission of an engine not to be interrupted, and when the automatic emergency braking state is quitted, the virtual accelerator position signal is sent to the AEB device. And the target vehicle is controlled to perform accelerated driving according to the opening value of the accelerator position, so that the problems that the engine flames out and the AEB state cannot be quitted in time when the vehicle is in the AEB state are solved.
