The information acquisition equipment is used for collecting trigger information of each trigger sensor and sending the trigger information to the processing terminal; the processing terminal is used for obtaining the triggering sequence of the triggering sensors and the triggering times of the triggering sensors according to the triggering information of the triggering sensors, obtaining the running direction of the train of the thermal power plant according to the triggering sequence of the triggering sensors, and obtaining the train section number of the train of the thermal power plant according to the triggering times of the triggering sensors. The automatic, high-efficiency and high-accuracy detection of the running direction of the train of the thermal power plant and the number of train sections of the train of the thermal power plant is realized.
