An elastomeric composition is disclosed. The elastomeric composition includes, per 100 parts by weight of rubber (phr): from about 20 to about 40 phr of a polybutadiene having a cis-1, 4 linking group content of at least 95%; from about 40 to about 70 phr of a styrene/butadiene copolymer; from about 5 to about 30 phr of natural rubber or a polyisoprene; a curing agent; an antioxidant; from about 1 to about 20 phr of carbon black; from about 1 to about 30 phr of a plasticizing oil; from about 40 to about 80 phr of silica; about 1 to about 15 phr of a silane coupling agent; and about 5 to about 30 phr of a polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer, a butyl rubber, a poly (isobutylene-co-p-methylstyrene), and a poly (isobutylene-co-p-methylstyrene-co-isoprene) terpolymer.
