The invention relates to a battery system, a vehicle and a control method thereof. The battery system comprises a battery pack assembly, a second switch, a voltage converter and a third switch, the battery pack assembly comprises at least two battery packs connected in series, each battery pack comprises a battery unit and a first switch for short-circuiting the battery unit, a first end of the second switch is connected with a first end of the battery pack assembly, and a second end of the voltage converter is connected with a second end of the battery pack assembly. The second end of the second switch and the second end of the third switch form the first output end of the battery system, the first input end of the voltage converter is connected with the first end of the second switch, and the second input end of the voltage converter is connected with the second end of the battery pack assembly to form the second output end of the battery system. According to the battery pack assembly, the first end of the third switch is connected with the first output end of the voltage converter, and by arranging the voltage converter, when the output voltage is reduced due to the fact that a fault battery pack is removed from the battery pack assembly, discharging can be conducted after voltage boosting through the voltage converter.
