The invention relates to a brake system in a vehicle, comprising wheel brakes (1) which can be actuated by means of an electronic control unit (10) having an axle-individual brake force distribution unit (39) and a wheel-individual brake force distribution unit (41), a front axle target deceleration (VVA) and a rear axle target deceleration (VHA) can be determined from a friction brake system target deceleration (VRBS) by means of the individual brake distribution unit of the axle, the invention relates to an individual wheel brake distribution unit, by means of which a front wheel target deceleration (VVR) can be determined from a front axle target deceleration and a rear wheel target deceleration (VHR) can be determined from a rear axle target deceleration, the individual wheel brake distribution unit generating an adjustment signal (S, n) for actuating a wheel brake on the basis of the front wheel target deceleration and the rear wheel target deceleration. According to the invention, an electronic control unit of the friction brake system is associated with a determination module (29), by means of which a current actual wheel circumference ratio (k (t)) between the front wheel and the rear wheel can be determined. The controller determines a front wheel target deceleration and a rear wheel target deceleration taking into account a current actual wheel perimeter ratio.
